Argentinean VFX company 100 Bares recently completed a challenging 5 1/2 minute shot for the movie “El secreto de sus ojos” using AIR, Massive, and Maya.  Marcelo Garcia at 100 Bares sent the following description of the project:

“Huracán” sequence was a long shot of five and a half minutes with 7 camera cuts.  It was the first VFX shot of its kind in Argentinean cinematographic history.  It was rendered in Air 8 using the Air Stream plugin as the lighting bridge between Massive and Maya.  We rendered 42,000 agents in a crowded stadium with a render farm that peaked at 20 workstations as our deadline approached.

We are really proud to have achieved this big challenge. We also are really grateful to Hai Nguyen for his assistance with our lighting pipeline.

Lighting as well as the whole VFX design and supervision was done by Rodrigo Tomasso with VFX production by Marcelo Garcia at 100Bares VFX.
